Prevalence of dental malocclusion and its gender distribution among dental students at Kabul university of medical science

The current study aims to provide quantitative and qualitative information about the prevalence of dental malocclusions among students Kabul University Medical Sciences (KUMS) in orthodontics department Ali Abad Teaching Dental Clinic that evaluates relationship malocclusion between gender major causes society genders tendency community toward treatment dentoalveolar anomalies. This was a cross-sectional survey done randomly 133 students, 68 male (51.12%) 65 female (48.87%), an age range 18–25 years old at Sciences, teaching clinic faculty dentistry. show classes due “angle" classification females Class I (53.48%), II (21.4%), III (23.07%), while males (48.33%), (6.66%), (43.33%). rate crowding 33% 43% females. It has been studied analyzed separately most common oral problems were caries (53.84%). According our (65 participants), no one had periodontitis, males, plaque 28.97%, least gingivitis (6%), respectively. occurrence trauma boys heredity girls may be important factors for malocclusion. Girls more interested orthodontic treatments, which because they pay attention beauty than boys. Moreover, highest participants, followed by deep, open bites edge-to-edge bites.
